CobraTekku Games & Studio Moka Bring CitaDrill to Steam Next Fest
Build, Dig Deep, Reap Rewards But Beware...
Munich, Germany, October 6th, 2026 - publisher CobraTekku Games, together with Canada developer Studio Moka, is delighted to announce that CitaDrill, their inventive and mind-bending expansive roguelite action mining simulation, will be participating in the forthcoming Steam Next Fest, taking place from October 19th to October 26th, 2026.
The simplistic and stylized top-down, side-on view, with its absorbing and constantly changing presentation, will throw the player into the opportunity to discover and experience the game’s compelling storyline, with many intriguing sequences of events required to be successful! The Next Fest newly created and expanded demo is a real taster for its release later in the year.
Digging for Answers
CitaDrill combines a strangely mesmeric, relaxing drilling and exploration experience with moments of intense strategy, as players drill into a mysterious planet, gather resources, unlock new buildings, and expand their city while adapting to an increasingly hostile environment. As the city grows, players must carefully plan their layout and make strategic decisions to survive waves of creatures and challenging boss fights, creating a balance between calm exploration and high-pressure tactical encounters. Each run gradually unlocks new ways to play, including different captains and city layouts, while also revealing more about the mysterious planet and the deeper story behind its world.

Action - Dig it!
As the Captain, you will face many underground monsters that are…unfriendly, to put it lightly. The right remote operator can tackle the challenge of going toe-to-toe with colossal citapedes, refusing to back down when faced with endless hordes of deep denizens, or hazardous environments. And you won't be alone! C.A.T. is a dependable Drill O.S. (and supervisor) who will accompany you throughout. On-screen, interactive dialogue (some very amusing) will guide you along the way, giving hints and generally ensuring you are on the right lines - especially when you commence to what is a fascinating ‘trip’. Drill for resources, build weapons, and decide how to allocate materials. Manage your cat-izens, explore hazardous environments, and constantly fight off monsters. Don't fret if one expedition ends in disaster - you can easily start another. You'll be in charge of building what your workers need and acquiring what's necessary for the drill's survival. Place buildings down in your moving settlement, assign workers to stations, and create a flourishing, efficient CitaDrill with lots of happy, productive workers and big guns. And while you're at it, collect new blueprints along the way to make the most of your build.
Including…
- Drilling and mining deeper into the planet.
- Building and expanding your underground city beneath a protective dome.
- Collecting resources and deciding how to use them.
- Upgrading your giant drill and your settlement.
- Managing a crew of cats helping run the operation.
- Defending the city against waves of creatures.
- Replaying procedurally generated runs, giving it a roguelite/roguelike structure.

Help is on hand! Learning is rewarding!
A pretty impressive Tutorial/Training Simulation provides a first real insight into the actions, endless parameters, controls, enemy craft, attack modes, and intricacies that ultimately come together to create a management-driven action-building escapade that is surprisingly challenging.
Patience, focus, and some clever manipulation of the controls/menu will soon have you getting into the ‘groove’ of what this engaging title has to offer. Add in some seriously cool psychedelic background music, and there’s a compelling experience here that rewards persistence and experimentation.

About Studio Moka
Based in Montreal, Studio Moka is an independent development studio dedicated to creating soulful, genre-defying games. The team is driven by the belief that video games are more than mere entertainment: they should challenge the player, grow alongside them, and leave a lasting impression. Studio Moka is passionate about crafting experiences that spark reflection, ignite the imagination, and occasionally trigger a mild existential crisis (in the best way possible, of course).
Their current project, CitaDrill, is a roguelike city builder where players must manage a doomed civilization aboard a massive subterranean drill. By blending strategic worker management and narrative worldbuilding with relentless environmental pressure, CitaDrill explores themes of survival, sacrifice, and the primal urge to dig ever deeper.
